Nemo museum is truly a fun place to visit. An interactive museum where we can learn about many things. It is not only interesting for kids, but also for adults. It is open from tuesday to sunday from10.00 - 17.30.
It is located only 10 minutes walking from Amsterdam Centraal Station. From the centraal station, just turn left and we can directly spot the building, the unique shape green building, that looks like a ship.
In the ground floor, we can buy the ticket, with admission for Eur 15 for visitors aged 4 and over. for Museumkaart holder is free. We can put our jacket & other stuffs in the locker. In this floor, there is also a small shop that sells things related to science.
Then, we went to the first floor. It was very impressive. With lots of interesting things to try. Kaeo was interested in making bubbles, from small bubbles until a giant bubbles. He also tried experiment about magnetic field, how wind can hold up a ball, simple machine pulley. And the most he like was the electric static ball.
In the second floor, still many things to try. First thing that Kaeo wanted to try was laboratory. Because in this section, he can become a scientist, wearing the lab coat with safety glass and do an experiment. There were some options for the experiment. Kaeo chose how to make rocket fly using vinegar and baking soda.
The next thing he wanted to do was the workshop. For this day, they had workshop about gear. Every children got materials and made their own gear system design. It was really a good workshop. They provided with good materials, tools and some samples for the children to get some ideas. Kaeo designed and made his own gear, all by himself!
Next to the workshop area, he tried how to make an arc bridge and then step on it :).In this floor, we can also learn about water. How to purify water, how dams work and also about water energy. Next to the water area, we can find a big machine like in a factory where we can learn about logistical process. There was also an interesting area about shape, how we can use perspective to make an optical ilusion.
There were still more floors to explore, but we ran out of time. The museum was about to close. Half day was not enough time to explore Nemo.
